Here With Me

*sneezes* It got me. I have one hell of a cold, it has been going around college for the past month and now it has finally found me. Damn it, I feel awful I can’t breath through my nose, my throat feels like its been attacked with a razor and I can’t hear out of my left ear. So generally I have been feeling shitty for the past week and a half. On a brighter note, I only have one week left of college until the holidays yay. College ends on the 21st, 4 days before Christmas

As you know it is that magical time of year again, that means Christmas work parties. Some people love them, others will do anything to avoid them and others are eventful. Our Christmas party is the latter. As you may know my manager has certain issues with alcohol which always makes events or everyday life nice and dramatic. Some people may remember me blogging about last year. Short version: manager was drunk before anyone got there, was annoying and embarrassing, made a twat out of herself, touched everyone up and pissed everyone off. This year was slightly different.

Last year our Christmas party was at a pub near the managers house, this year it was at an Indian restaurant in the middle my town. (it is not really my town, I just don’t want to name it) Only the manager lives in another town so it made sense to keep it local this year. It took weeks of arguing to decide where to go, the manager wanted to go to the same place as last year and no one else wanted to, she made a fuss and caused lots of drama as usual, I guess she is used to getting her own way.

Sue picked me up and then picked Bridie and Sarah up. Sarah is relatively new she wasn’t at the last Christmas party so she had no idea what the manager was really like (I’m not naming the manager in this post because I’m slagging her off and I don’t want to get into trouble, in other entries she is named). The manager was waiting at the restaurant for us, the restaurant looked great and it smelt amazing, it was a really great place. The manager was sat in the lobby area, you could tell she had been drinking, her eyes were watery and she was squinting and she smelt like a brewery, plus she had a glass of wine in her hand and a half empty bottle on the table next to her.

Mon showed up a few minutes later and the ushers showed us to our table. The waiters were a bit pervy all night they kept staring and winking at Sarah, she was really freaked out, bless her. The manager showed herself up within moments of sitting down, she was telling us one of her pointless work stories when she knocked her wine all over the table, it was so embarrassing when the waiters had to change the table cloth in front of a packed restaurant. The food was great, I had chicken kebab for starters and vegetable korma for the main, o and a complimentary mint for dessert lol.

Our company provided us with £15 pounds per person and a customer gave us a tip which worked out to about £7 each (total of £22). We were going to spend our £15 and keep the £7, almost everyone ordered 3 things and individually each person spent just under £15 but the manager decided to be a pain and order all these side dishes which no one else ate. When it came to paying the bill, she used our extra money to pay for her food, the bill came to £120 something and we had £90 from the company, we all agreed before hand if we spent more than our £15 we would pay the extra out of our own money. She used our money and not her own, so that pissed everyone off. She is always doing shit like that and she wonders why no one likes her. Apart form the manager stuff, it was a great night. Right now I have to go I’m late for work.
